Our Story
The Directors of Dollar Value Limited are Glenn & Eunice Williams. They have been in retail business since 1992.
Prior to going in to business Glenn was previously in a professional career and had completed a New Zealand Certificate in Management just prior to leaving the previous profession. Glenn is a Member of both the N Z Institute of Management and of the Institute of Directors.
Eunice’s career was previously as a physiotherapist, she has worked in the business while also caring for their three children. Currently Eunice is working in the Team Support Office developing and maintaining robust franchise systems.
Together they established Dollar Value Whakatane in mid 2001 and various marketing initiatives resulted in that store showing good sales growth in spite of significant competition in the Whakatane market. This store had been taking part in the Whakatane Top Shop competition in 2003 and feedback from customers had been absolutely fantastic.
The customer response to the Whakatane store gave the encouragement to open a second store in March 2004 in the Bayfair Shopping Centre at Mt Maunganui. This store also met with a great response from customers. It won the People's Choice award in 2006 among 85 stores.
The Whakatane store is now ably operated by a franchisee and new franchise stores have been established at Fraser Cove Tauranga(2004), Fashion Island Papamoa(2006) and in October 2007 a store was opened in Bethlehem Tauranga following the casual lease ending for the Bayfair store.
Dollar Value is now receiving approaches from shopping centres to consider a Dollar Value store in their centres. Approaches are also made regularly by people interested in a franchise.
Dollar Value will accept enquiries from interested parties to consider franchises in other parts of the country.
The Directors have established ambitious growth plans for Dollar Value and have been working with a business consultancy to assist with these growth plans. |
